Fair Winners Receive Awards


The Severn Bridge Agricultural Society held its annual Awards Night yesterday evening, with a good turnout of friends and family to cheer on the winners from this year's Fall Fair. We would like to congratulate of all the successful contestants and hope they enjoy their prizes.

Winners from the 2018 Special Events contests were: Forrest Tryon - Baby Contest; Lucy Archer - Toddler Contest; Kapree Laskey - Miss Moppet; Billy Johnson - Country Squire; and Taylor McGillivary - Junior Ambassador. Forrest, Kapree and Billy were present last night to receive their certificates.

In the Junior division, the Manson Memorial Trophy, awarded to the boy and girl with highest points in the Schoolwork section, was shared by Rayah Salata and Logan Colyer. The Sparrow Lake W.I. Trophy, for highest points in the Miscellaneous section, went to Neveah Gregory. Neveah also received the Gravenhurst Fire Dept. Trophy for highest points in combined Schoolwork and Miscellaneous sections. The Robinson Haulage Award, for most entries overall, went to Kapree Laskey. The SBAS plaque for most entries in Schoolwork and Miscellaneous sections went to Kapree Laskey. The SBAS book store gift certificates for highest points went to: Kapree Laskey - Vegetables; Paris Brownlee and Bentley Brownlee - Flowers; and Alyssa Borland - Baking.

In the Senior division, the Pioneer Handcraft Silver Tray, awarded for highest points in the Domestic Sciences, was won by Maureen Clipsham. The Pioneer Handcraft Rolling Pin award for Baking was won by Bailey Mcintee.
