FAIR ENTRIES

For a complete list of entry classes, prizes and other information, please consult the current Fair Book. Entry items should be brought to the fairgrounds on the day before the Fair, Thursday, September 7, 2023. The halls will be open to accept entries from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. For more information, please contact the Director of the area you are interested in.

FAIR BY-LAWS
  1. All entries must be accompanied by an entry tag. Tags may be obtained in advance from the Directors or they will be available upon arrival at the grounds.

  2. Only one entry is allowed per section under each membership except for classes of horses, cattle, sheep, swine, goats, poultry & rabbits.

  3. Competition is open to residents of Ontario providing they are the bonafide owners and have had all exhibits entered (except foods) in their possession at least one month before the fair.

  4. Any protest of violation of Rules & Regulations or By-Laws of the Society must be made to the Secretary in writing within ten days of the Fair.

  5. 10% of the prize money will be retained by the Society for the Maintenance Fund. Membership fees for the following year are also deducted from prize money, providing amount won is sufficient. This does not apply to Jr. Fair.

  6. Only persons authorized shall assist the Judges.

  7. JUDGES DECISION is FINAL unless rules of the Society are violated.

  8. All entries are to be judged before awarding prizes. No entries are allowed to obtain more than one prize unless specified.

  9. In the event of two or fewer qualifying entries in a given category, the entries shall be given prizes as DEEMED WORTHY by the Judges.

  10. The Directors will take every precaution to ensure the safety of articles sent to the Fair but the owners themselves must take the risk of exhibiting the same should any article be accidentally lost. Directors will give any assistance in their power towards recovery of same, but it should be distinctly understood that no payment will be made for any lost or damaged articles.

  11. No trafficking of fruits, goods or merchandise will be allowed within the Fair Grounds without the consent of the Directors.

  12. The Society has always paid prize money in full. If at any time receipts are insufficient to cover the full amount, the Society only binds itself to pay on a percentage basis as much of the prize money as is consistent with receipts.

  13. A list of winnings must be sent to the Treasurer within 7 days.

  14. All prize money to be paid by Oct. 31 unless the board decides other-wise. All cheques must be cashed by December 31 of the current year.

  15. No unauthorized horses, ponies or motorized vehicles allowed on the grounds.

  16. All booths and displays are to remain until 4:00 p.m.

  17. No cheques will be issued for $2.00 or less.​

HOLDS HARMLESS AGREEMENT

When making an entry the Exhibitor shall indemnify and Hold Harmless the SEVERN BRIDGE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, their members, agents, and employees from and against all claims, demands, losses, costs damages, actions, suits or proceedings by any third parties that may arise out of, or may attribute to, all operations performed by or carried out by the exhibitor, his agents, employees, or servants, or anyone for whose acts he may be held liable, howsoever caused.
