Always a crowd favourite, the Special Events contests at this year's fair were entertaining as usual, with emcee Steve McGill asking questions and trying to get participants to reveal their hidden talents. Themed clothing and cuteness seemed to be the biggest factors. The winners, as chosen by the panel of three judges, were: Baby Contest - Forrest Tryon Toddler Contest - Lucy Archer Miss Moppet Contest - Kapree Laskey Country Squire Contest - Billy Johnson and Jake Robinson (tie) Junior Ambassador Contest - Taylor McGillivary
Our second annual Scarecrow Walk attracted a lot of visitors at the fair and they were able to cast ballots for their favourite scarecrow. Winners will receive free ads in our Fair Book or passes for next year's fair. The top-ranked scarecrows were: 1st - Black's Heating and Sheet Metal Ltd. 2nd - Water's Edge Landscaping 3rd - Sparrow Lake W.I. and Washago's R Cottage restaurant (tie) Thanks to all of the businesses for participating.
The SBAS would like to congratulate the winners of these and all the other competitions in the fair. Our Awards Night will take place sometime in October (exact date to be announced) and everyone is welcome to attend.
